The art of photography is much more than just producing pictures on paper. It’s about capturing the true spirit and love and connections of your family as a whole, for you to reflect on in years to come. In our busy lives it is so important to take time every now and then to capture the unique milestones in life. All too often I hear from Mums that they are only in selfies with the children and have lots of pictures of dad and the kids so having a family shoot will enable you to feature in pictures! One of the most rewarding aspects of family photography is truly getting to know you and your family so I can create portraits that reflect your family’s unique characters. I have a huge enthusiasm for working with people and looking for the natural emotions so my style is very relaxed and fun enabling me to observe you and snap away at those key moments. I encourage lots of play between parents and children and like the children to have a good time throughout the session. If they are having fun and happy it enables me to get their natural happy expressions. I’m also very aware that Dads are rarely as keen as mums to have their pictures taken so don’t worry if this is the case I am very used to it!

I really want to capture your real family life through photography so being yourselves is key. My aim is to showcase you and your family and the way you interact with each other in an honest and creative way giving you images you will adore forever.

Before the session

This may be your first professional photo shoot so I am here to guide you through the session from the start. Firstly getting a booking form from you which gives me the opportunity to get to know you, your desires and preferences from the outset.  I will advise on what to wear, the location and timings and what to bring along to the shoot. A deposit will also be required to secure the booking.

During the shoot

On the day of the shoot we will meet at the agreed time and location and get going, allowing time for the children to warm up to me and build a little rapport. I will guide you through the session encouraging interaction and play allowing you to be natural but also give direction where needed. Children are unpredictable, that’s what makes them so loveable so don’t worry if your child is not in good spirits on the day or is uber shy – I have lots of experience with this and some tricks up my sleeve. Be sure to bring along a change of clothes for the children in case of accidents, a clear drink and a cleanish snack. For smaller children a toy that gets their attention and for older children…bribes?! Bribes work!

After

I will get to work editing your images to present to you, I will often preview your session on my social media channels a few days after for you to share. ( If previously agreed) No later than around 4-6 weeks after the shoot your full online gallery will come to life and be shared with you. From the gallery you can purchase albums or prints and can save all of the digital images directly to your computers.
